Dear friends and colleagues.
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 51st Annual Meeting of EBMT to be held from March 30 to April 2, 2025 in Florence.
For many years, hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) has been the only cell therapy in clinical use. Its position between experimental biology and clinical practice has made its technique remarkably adaptable. This, in turn, has required a continuous improvement of expertise. Notably, the past decade has seen transformative changes that have overcome previously insurmountable barriers of age, histocompatibility, and ameliorated procedure-related toxicity. The advent of genetically modified immune effector cells has propelled cell therapy from academic research to large-scale, pharmaceutical industry-led clinical applications. In addition, several gene therapy clinical trials have achieved significant disease improvement, with more trials in progress. Indications for cell therapy are rapidly expanding in both malignant and non-malignant diseases.EBMT has played an integral role in establishing an important network that facilitates collaboration among healthcare professionals, nurses, data managers, cell biologists, and bioengineers. The annual meeting highlights the highest level of science and the most important areas of this accumulated experience, reflecting the growing legacy of the EBMT and our commitment to upholding this standard of excellence. We are committed to encouraging the participation of young scientists in order to enrich the fundamental scientific content of the meeting.
Attending the 51st EBMT Annual Meeting in Florence will provide you with an excellent opportunity to network with fellow experts and gain insights into the latest scientific advances, as well as an important gathering of professionals in the field of transplantation and cell therapy. The conference features sessions specifically tailored for data managers, statisticians, quality managers, cell therapists, pediatricians, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, transplant coordinators, laboratory scientists and interns. In addition to the above sessions, we encourage you to fully understand the scientific program and attend as many other parts of the meeting as possible, including the Patient, Family and Donor Day, the Quality Management Group, and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Florence is a city known for its rich cultural heritage and offers a unique opportunity to blend healthcare issues with Italian tradition and art. We look forward to welcoming you to Florence in March 2025 and sharing all this with you!
