Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a common congenital malformation, but its underlying pathogenesis remains unclear. Stokes and colleagues utilized mice to explore the tissue requirements during normal development. SIN3A regulates the balance of histone acetylation and deacetylation in the developing diaphragm and lung mesenchyme. The study findings suggest that restoring the balance of histone acetylation can improve lung development in the Sin3a mouse model of CDH.

3.Pannexin-3 stabilizes the transcription factor Bcl6 in a channel-independent manner to protect against vascular oxidative stress

The findings offer valuable insights into the channel-independent role of Panx3 as a scaffold protein that effectively restricts endothelial and hypertensive oxidative stress by binding to Bcl6, thereby inhibiting the activity of the Bcl6 protein and suppressing oxidative stress and inflammation. The reduced levels of endothelial Panx3 and Bcl6 in hypertensive and obese individuals suggest that decreased endothelial Panx3 may contribute to obesity-related hypertension.
