Your hair is difficult to style

If you're having trouble styling your mane, even with a lot of conditioner, your hair is probably damaged. This is because when the cuticles are open, your hair has trouble retaining moisture, and therefore the care you give it does not stay for long. The cuticles cling more easily and your hair gets tangled a lot, especially towards the ends.

To remedy this, you need to feed them well and use products containing protein, and don't hesitate to overuse oil baths.

Your hair is dry and dull

If your hair is damaged, dry, dull, and brittle, this is also a sign that the cuticle has been altered. You can also feel a big difference between your lengths and ends. This can be the consequence of repeated coloring or daily drying that is too aggressive for the hair. UV rays, pollution, wind and chlorine in swimming pools dry them out just as much.

To help the cuticles close, specific techniques must be used. Here's what our expert recommends:

  • Apply a mask or treatment adapted to the nature of the follicle: it must be spread over the entire hair and applied for the time recommended by the manufacturer;

  • Then rinse thoroughly with cold water: this will help close the cuticles.

Your hair falls out in handfuls

If you find that you lose a lot of your hair, and that it breaks easily, then you need to check the health of your scalp. However, don't panic! Hair loss is usually a transient phenomenon. They grow back spontaneously after a few months.

Each hair has its own life cycle and no matter how long it takes, it is always achieved in three phases.

Hair Life Cycle: Growth, Regression, Rest

  • Growth, the longest phase, lasts from 3 to 6 years;

  • Regression, the shortest phase, lasts only 2 to 3 weeks. It coincides with the cessation of the activity of the hair follicle;

  • Rest is the last phase (3 months) during which the dead hair is gradually pushed to the surface by a new hair before falling out. If this phase occurs too quickly, there is significant and diffuse hair loss. This can happen after significant stress, pregnancy, to a lesser degree, at the change of seasons (spring and autumn) but more often it is related to iron and zinc deficiencies.

Another possible concern is that you may be putting too much product on it, or products that are too obstructive, such as those that contain silicone. It is therefore necessary to nourish your hair well with silicone-free products. They will grow back as soon as you change your routine.

Your hair is greasy

Don't try to clean them with the first degreasing shampoo you find. The remedy would be worse, as some are heavily "stripping". Excess sebum has harmful aesthetic consequences, first of all because it causes the appearance of dandruff. On the other hand, sebum exists in a normal state and its role is to protect the hair against external aggressions.

Your hair doesn't grow back anymore

Normally, every day, new hair grows while others die and fall out. However, for genetic and hormonal reasons, sometimes they fall off and no longer grow back.

In genetically affected individuals, hair follicles are highly receptive to male hormones. They are shrinking. Hair cycles are shortened. The hair changes until it becomes thinner and thinner, or even doesn't grow at all. In women, the hair is thinning more evenly, while in men, baldness is located on the forehead, temples and at the top of the head.

Your hair has split ends

When you wrap small sections of your hair around your finger, small, uneven strands sticking out show that you have split ends.

Having a little split end is inconsequential and completely normal, as hair rubs on clothes or pillows, but weakened follicles will have more than average.

Because of these split ends, your hair grows more slowly, as it will break. Normally, some split ends appear 2-3 months after cutting the ends, but if you notice split ends only a few days after cutting your hair, it is because your hair is too fragile.

Unfortunately, despite what the big brands say, it is impossible to repair split ends, you have to cut everything and do fortifying care so that the hair does not break immediately. In this way, the base becomes almost healthy again.

You have dandruff

There are dry and oily dandruff. Both require a medical examination to determine the cause. You will find many anti-dandruff shampoos and lotions that are suitable depending on the appearance and cause of the dandruff condition.

In your usual routine, it is important to choose your care accordingly, nourish your hair deeply, with an oil bath and a mask, choose very nourishing and repairing oils and masks containing coconut, wheat germ, baobab or olive oil, but also shea or mango butters. Our preference is coconut oil. What's more? It penetrates the hair fiber.
